Rescue of 8

Recently we posted on Facebook regarding help for the rescue of 8 Newfs. The response has been both overwhelming and amazing. If you have reached out to us via the site or Facebook, please have patience. It takes a lot of coordination to get these pups into rescue, evaluations, foster and finally into their forever homes.

If you unable to transport, foster, or adopt but would still like to help, monetary donations would be greatly appreciated. They can be made via check made payable to RKNC Rescue. Sent to RKNC c/o Sylvia Steiling RKNC Treasurer, 5 Fox Meadows, St. Louis, MO 63127.

If you are interested in adopting, the application can be found here.

Thank you so much to everyone who has responded!!! Newfie people are AWESOME!

Meet Buddy

9/17/2018: This is Buddy. He was picked up from a Peoria, IL shelter on Saturday and is being fostered by a River King Member. Buddy has had a pretty rough start to life but everything changes from here on out. Left chained and starved inside a home, a case worker notified animal control who seized him and another dog in the home. The other dog did not survive unfortunately. Buddy weighs 65 lbs and is eating three meals a day as he is extremely underweight. We believe he is a very nice and smart dog and was well behaved at the veterinarian. He is estimated to be within 2-3 years old. Buddy is not neutered yet as he needs to gain weight first.
